Discover the timeless saga of Villa Lungomonte, a legacy rooted in the grandeur of the 16th century. Originally owned by Lawrence the Magnificent, the villa emerged from marshy grounds, leaving traces of its native plant intricately woven into the enchanting cross vaults of the wine cellars.
In the 17th century, the Gualandi family transformed the estate of Asciano, shaping the villa’s current external allure. By the late 18th century, the union of Maria Lessandra Gualandi and Squire Francis Franceschi marked a pivotal chapter, bequeathing the villa and its lands to a new lineage.
The 19th century saw a shift as joint heiresses transferred the estate to steward Sabatino Fusi. Enter Oscar Tobler, a Swiss industrialist, who acquired and amalgamated Villa Lungomonte with prestigious families, culminating in the Asciano Estate.
In 1939, the baton passed to the present owner’s family, sealing Villa Lungomonte’s destiny as a cherished jewel within the Asciano Estate. Immerse yourself in the echoes of centuries, where each stone tells a tale of opulence, resilience, and the enduring charm of this historic haven.
The Villa was absolutely beautiful along with all of the scenery and surroundings. We had such an amazing wedding there and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Fabio made everything very easy and was an absolute pleasure to work with along with the rest of the staff. We can’t wait to visit again!
